The Eastminster Presbyterian Church Youth Ministry car wash is Saturday, May 25, 10–1. This is a fundraiser for our Montreat retreat. Come get your car washed for the Memorial Day weekend!
Commemorative Air Force May 16–19
Here is a special note from Bill and Connie Logan, whom, as we know, are pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and members of the Southern Museum of Flight. The Commemorative Air Force is bringing a show to the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport May 16–19 featuring Fifi, the last operating B-29, and several vintage WWII aircraft. See the attached flyer for schedule, location, and admission prices. You can book actual flights on Fifi, price range around $300.
Scout Troop 245 Car Wash and Youth Plant Sale
On Saturday, May 11, 2013 Eastminster’s Scout Troop 245 hosted a highly successful car wash. At the same time and location the youth group conducted a plant sale fundraiser that raised $588 for our mission trip to Montreat, North Carolina. This year, along with the regular spiritually-enriching activities, our young people will be sacrificing some of their free time to serve at the Asheville, NC youth mission.
FNL May 10, 2013
Friday Night Live was another hit featuring “glow-in-the-dark volleyball,” a warm meal, basketball, Foosball, air hockey, pool, card games, Wii, Nintendo, and as always a message from minister Micah Dowling. Thank you to all our student aids, we couldn’t make it without you!
Although Eastminster and Grace Presbyterian Churches have now merged and will soon have a new name, Friday Night Live continues as an active worship and fellowship event open to the community at our 1751 Gadsden Highway facility. FNL meets through Friday, May 31, 2013, our last meeting before the summer break. Meanwhile, our small group activities scheduled for Sundays, 9:30–10:30 continue throughout the summer at our 6110 Deerfoot Parkway facility.
